The first page you will see when you access the Start
Here website is the login page. If this is your first
time using Start Here, click on the Register link at
the lower left corner of your screen. Fill in the
registration information and select the Register button
at the bottom of the page.
Once you are registered and logged in, you may use the green plus sign to add teachers, or select a teacher you already added from the drop down menu. Once a teacher has been created and selected, you may begin entering information about your classroom walk- through, including the observation number, the school name, subject, grade level, date, number of students and paraprofessionals in the room.
There are a number of observation modules in start here. Select either a blank, a zero, a one or a two to evaluate each strategy.
When you enter data into Start Here on your handheld device, the data is instantly saved to the server, where it can be retrieved from a computer or other device with a web browser. The charting feature is automatic. The charts can be printed from your computer, for one teacher, or for an average of all teachers.
This information is useful to give the administrator a snapshot of what is happening in the
classroom, and if specific strategies are being implemented as planned.
To be able to print the graphs in a legible manner you need to enable your browser to print background images and colors.
